Evolution of radio broadcasting
Amateur broadcasting starting in india nov. 1923 with radio club calcatta.
In June 1924 started similar radio club in bombay & madras began transmission of programmes for two and half hours a day.
Madras closed down in oct 1927 due to financial difficulties.
23 July on that year first regular radio broadcast at bombay and 26 August in Kolkata these station started by Indian broadcast company. (IBC) which had received a licence from the government Lord ervine the viceroy inaugurated Mumbai station with capital of one and half million.
IBC get revenue from two sources
1st 80% revenue radio licence per set.
2nd source of revenue 10 to 20% from equipment dealer as a tribute.
now days 4 valve radio set prize is 500 rupees which is very expensive.
in 1930 the company want to liquidation in June 1930.
between 1930-1935 Indian broadcasting was in the doldrum.
broadcasting came under its direct control in the department of labour and industries on 1 April 1930 and designed as Indian state broadcast services ISBS.
Government of India Act 1935 section 129 describe the all rules and regulation about radio broadcasting.

it's allow 10% time of total transmission for added sponsored program.
AIR 1982 COMMERCIAL SPOTS introduced on the main channel before-and-after News Bulletin morning and evening Hindi and English language

and private players only 5%
in 2006 All India Radio only 25%
and can 75% of advertising revenue its mean the scenario is about change but how it possible because the private player understand the local needs of listener and increase listenership and attract the advertiser owners
Now day radio industry in India
Ministry Of Information and Broadcasting 18th June 2019 about 385 private commercial radio station are successful operational in India
about 251 operational community radio station successfully operation is in India according Ministry of Broadcast and information data 31st May 2019
